What is recapping?
Electrolytic capacitors are small components in electronic circuits that can be thought of as similar to small batteries. As they age, they don’t perform as well as they used to and can even “vent” or leak corrosive chemicals. With retro consoles approaching 20+ years it is a standard maintenance task to replace them with new parts to ensure continued long life of the device.
What about yellowing plastics?
The method of restoring yellowed plastics is commonly known as “retrobright”. We don’t include this service by default, but it is an option. Drop us a line to discuss!
