Mail-in Services
How do I place an order? What will it cost? How long will it take?
Due to the nature of our services, each job is unique. In addition, turnaround time can vary depending on our availability or need of parts. Please contact us at info@reddishbeargames.com to discuss any details.
How do I get my items to you?
You will be provided an address to ship to when we agree to take on your order. We can receive from all standard shippers. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
What if my item cannot be fixed?
We offer a no fix, no fee arrangement in most cases. If we cannot fix your item, we will charge only the cost of shipping it back to you.
When is payment due?
Once an item is repaired, refurbished, or modded we will send an invoice. This invoice must be paid within 45 days, or the item will be considered abandoned, and we may sell or recycle the item at our discretion. This is not a layaway service; however, we will of course make every effort to contact you before this happens. If we were unable to repair the item, we will invoice only for the return shipping cost plus any parts or fees already incurred.
How can I know what my repair will cost before I know what’s wrong?
We will keep you in the loop all along, once we receive the unit and assess its condition we will let you know the options to proceed and their cost. If parts are required to make the attempt, we will inform you of their costs. Once a part is used in a repair, you are responsible for its cost even if it doesn’t solve the problem. You will know up front whenever this is a possibility and can choose to stop the repair attempt at any time.
What should I ship to you?
For a repair, please ship only the item to repair itself. For consoles, this means I don’t need a controller or A/V cables or power adapter. If you’re requesting a modification, you need to include any relevant parts or kits as well.
What about prior repair attempts?
Please advise us if a previous repair attempt has been made, or if pre-existing mod work is present. Because of the nature of the work, we may charge a small fee in this case even if we aren’t able to repair the item ourselves.
How long will it take?
We try our best to turn around within two weeks of receipt, but if we expect it to take longer we will let you know. Reasons for delay might include the need to order specialized parts, or simply backlog of orders. Assuming all needed parts are on-hand, we offer expedited service for $20 that will try to turn the item around in 72 hours. This fee will be due even if the items is deemed unfixable however.
Can I drop ship items directly to you?
Yes, but please let us know ahead of time. Ideally arrange to have something on the label or give us the tracking number so we can associate the item with your order. Please note that we don’t recommend this method as we cannot take responsibility for the condition of the item received especially from auction sites.
How do I get Mod parts to you?
You can either ship them to us with together your console or controller, or you can request that we order them for you. If we order them for you, bear in mind that we will charge you for the cost of the mod kit or parts up front, and this will not be refundable. Should you wish to cancel the service for any reason, we can ship the parts or kit back to you for the cost of shipping.
Do you offer a warranty on services?
We offer a 90 day warranty on all repairs. If your device breaks down because of the same condition within 90 days we will repair your device again for free, including covering all shipping costs. This warranty may be waved in some circumstances, such as physical damage from shipping or physical abuse. Some sorts of work in particularly fragile by nature and may not carry a warranty, but we will always make you aware up-front if this is the case. For mods, some parts may carry their own waranties; for instance, an HDMI add-in board. If the fault is not with the workmanship you may need to take the issue up with the manufacturer; we can work with you to determine when this is the case.
